Association for International Agriculture and Rural Development (AIARD)
For over 40 years, the Association for International Agriculture and Rural Development (AIARD) has been an advocate for people impacted by poverty, food insecurity and disease. The Association membership is composed of international development professionals active in disciplines ranging from agriculture to the social sciences. Association members are affiliated with universities, government agencies, NGO's, financial institutions, foundations and private firms. The Association is active in promoting cooperation and funding support for organizations engaged in international development activities.
The Association also strongly believes education is an important key to improving the life skills and economic status of the poor. The International Office of the Agriculture Program at Texas A&M University encourages everyone interested in international development to visit the AIARD web site at www.aiard.org and become a student or professional member of the Association.
